You Asked, We Answered
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MANY HOGS WILL WE KILL ON OUR HUNT?
Every hunt is different, and every day is different. So many factors play into the number of hogs and coyotes that will be active, but the overwhelming majority have the opportunity to kill 20 or more hogs on a 2 hour hunt.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?
The short answer is No. However, HeliHogHunt's primary objective is safety. So, if in the pilot's and aerial safety's opinion the hunt's safe operation would be put in jeopardy - we will not allow the gunner in question to participate.
WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?
We will accept checks or credit cards. Credit card payments incur a 3% fee. When you decide to book a hunt, we will send an electronic invoice to you via email. This email will list hunt date, balance and payment instructions.
WHAT DATES ARE AVAILABLE?
We begin conducting hunts in January and go through the end of April. Hunts are booked for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only. This time of year is chosen because of temperatures for best helicopter performance and lack of foliage on trees.
WHAT AIRCRAFT WILL WE BE USING?
The Robinson R44 Raven II is used in 99% of our hunts.
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
Case by case. We generally will reschedule but not cancel a hunt already scheduled. When you book with us a variety of reservations and arrangements are made. Hangars, Fuel orders, company hotels etc. It is expensive and oftentimes irreversible.
DO YOU OFFER GIFT CARDS?
Not typically. We can create a certificate for purchased hunt to be gifted.
ARE YOU INSURED?
HeliHogHunt is insured for $1,000,000 in our Robinson R44's and $5,000,000 in our Bell 206 models.
DO I NEED A HUNTING LICENSE?
Yes, you will be required to show your valid Texas hunting license. Out of state hunters can obtain a five day non-resident temporary hunting permit (#157) by vising a Walmart en route to your hunt.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER?
Our pilots are proficient in determining safe operations based on weather. Certain high winds, lightning, storms, etc may delay hunt or require a reschedule. Ideally you have refundable flights, hotels etc. Planning on staying in Texas for more than a day will allow for flexibility in weather delays.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?
As early as possible. Every date and slot will book, and the vast majority before Thanksgiving. So at a minimum 2-3 months, but the earlier the better. It is first come, first served. We will not hold dates unless fully paid.
